Tour Package Components

All Diverse Directions bike tour packages include the following components:

  • Detailed, Easy-to-Follow Route Instructions

  • Large Scale Map with route highlighted

  • Tour Sights & Activities Information

  • Meet & Greet / Orientation Session

  • Touring / Hybrid Bicycle  (if needed at $25 per person per day)

  • Bike Case Storage (for customers traveling with own bike)

  • Accommodation Arrangements (Your choice of Inns / B&B's / Hotels / Motels)

  • Baggage Transfer

  • On-Road Support provided by local support staff

  • SAG Support (included with bike rental. Otherwise available for $25.00 per person per SAG.)

The following is a detailed description of each of the items included in our tour package:

Tour Documentation

  1. Route Instructions (Cue Sheets) and Route Map:

  • Spiral-bound booklet that fits into the map-holder of your handlebar bag; includes detailed, easy-to-follow directions.

  • Large Scale map with your route highlighted.

  1. Pre-Trip Preparation Materials: Provides in-depth coverage of a variety of topics including:

  • Tips for preparing physically, mentally & spiritually for your tour.

  • Tips for packing, including a packing checklist.

  • On the road cycling tips and safety guidelines.

  1. On-Road Reference Materials: This handy booklet fits in your handlebar bag for ease of access while on the road, providing information at a glance on the following topics:

  • All Diverse Directions support services

  • Security and safety guidelines

  • Instructions for changing a flat tire (Repair of flat tires is not included in On-Road Support)

  • Pre-ride checklist and pre-ride stretches

  • Dining option listings for each overnight destination

  1. Tour sights and activities information.

  2. Personalized Itinerary. A single source for referencing the critical details of your tour, including:

    • A summary of each day's activities.

    • The name and cell phone number of your tour support person.

    • Instructions regarding the delivery and pick-up of your rental bikes.

    • The names, addresses, and phone numbers of each of your hotels.

Accommodations Arrangements

Diverse Directions secures your reservations at the overnight accommodations of your choice. See our Accommodations page for the complete list of options. The cost of your overnight accommodations is not included in the price of your Diverse Directions Tour Package.

Unlike most tour companies, Diverse Directions does not limit your options to a single type or category of accommodation. You may choose any combination of accommodation types or categories, leaving you free to splurge some nights, while economizing on others. For this reason, Diverse Directions does not bundle the cost of accommodations into the tour's price, as do most tour companies. Instead, you pay each lodging provider upon checkout.

Baggage Transfer

For customers staying at inns, B&Bs, and hotels, Diverse Directions will transport two pieces of luggage and one carry-on bag per person from / to the hotels at which you have confirmed reservations. Additional items may be transported for an additional cost.

On-Road Support

Enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that help is just a phone call away. Should you experience a mechanical breakdown, you simply call your local Support Team Manager at Diverse Directions for assistance. Note: Flat tires are not covered under the support program.

As part of our On-Road Support, we'll "sweep" your route at least twice each required cycling day to ensure all is well, to answer questions, and to provide water, snacks, and basic first-aid supplies, if needed.

SAG Support (Included with Bicycle Rental)

SAG support is included at no additional charge for those renting bicycles from Diverse Directions. With SAG support, should you choose not to cycle on one or more required cycling days, your Diverse Directions support representative will transport you and your bike along to your next overnight destination at no additional charge.

If you choose to cycle with your own bikes, there is a $25.00 charge per person per SAG.

Bicycle Rental (Optional)

High quality hybrid / touring bikes are available for $25.00 per day (plus 6% Vermont Sales Tax) and include: 

  • 21 / 24 speeds (Shimano components)

  • handlebar bag with map carrier

  • odometer

  • lock

  • water bottle cage (water bottles not included)

  • rear rack (on most bikes)

  • rear panniers, if desired

  • air pump, tire irons, and a spare tube

  • helmets are generally available upon request

  • bike replacement, in the unlikely event of a mechanical failure

For those choosing to ride with clips, you'll need to bring your own pedals for installation on your rental bike.
