Our 2- room, self-contained guest suite is the ideal accommodation for a romantic weekend, a relaxing getaway to enjoy Vermont's autumn foliage colors, or as a base from which to explore our many nearby sights -- from our historic villages, cascading rivers and scenic drives to a host of antique and craft shops.

We are located 2 miles south of the charming, historic village of Newfane, Vermont; 9 miles northwest of Brattleboro; and a short walk from the Rock River, Vermont's most popular place for gay nude swimming and sunbathing. By car we're just 4 hours from New York and Montreal, 2.5 hours from Boston, and 1.5 hours from Hartford. Your hosts, David and Stephen, extend a warm invitation to our gay brothers and sisters to experience authentic Vermont living in a private and relaxed setting.

Located on the ground level of our log home, the guest suite, with its private entrance, offers a comfortable home-like atmosphere for 2 persons only. It includes a spacious living room, bedroom with a queen-sized bed, private bath, and patio with a view of the woods and local wildlife. For your convenience, you'll find a fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster, dishes, glasses & utensils, as well as all everything you'll need for a satisfying, continental-style, self-serve breakfast.

Set far from the road, the Newfane Woods Guest Suite offers peace, tranquility, and a sense of seclusion while being only 2 miles from Newfane, described by Yankee Magazine as “the loveliest of Windham County’s white villages.”

Founded in 1774, Newfane is a picture-perfect Vermont village, characterized by the Greek Revival architecture of its upscale homes and public buildings, and by its more modest white clapboard homes.

In Newfane you'll find a plethora of antiques shops, the Newfane Country Store with its large variety of Vermont products, the vast Sunday Flea Market (May – October), and Rick’s Tavern, featuring live jazz on Thursday evenings.

The Newfane Woods Guest Suite is a scenic 9-mile drive along the West River from Brattleboro, Vermont. We are open May 1 - October 31. Advance reservation required. A 2-night minimum stay is required for weekend stays during foliage season (September 19 - October 19, 2008 inclusive.)
